Investing in Growth: How the Rural Prosperity Fund is Helping Us Expand at Hatfield Park Pumpkins
At Hatfield Park Pumpkins, we’re always looking ahead — to the next season, the next crop, and the next opportunity to better serve our retail partners across the UK. We're excited to share that, thanks to funding from the UK Government’s Rural Prosperity Fund, administered by Uttlesford District Council, we’ve recently taken a big step forward.
With the support of this grant, we’ve been able to expand and improve our yard and infrastructure, enabling us to significantly increase our annual production capacity of wholesale pumpkins and squash. These improvements are a vital part of our long-term growth strategy, helping us meet the rising demand from farm shops, garden centres, and independent retailers who rely on high-quality, UK-grown seasonal produce.
The funding has allowed us to invest in key upgrades — from improved access and storage solutions to more efficient loading and distribution areas. These changes not only make our operations more streamlined, but also allow us to scale responsibly while maintaining the standards our customers expect.
Looking ahead, we're just a few weeks away from planting our next pumpkin crop — a task we take great pride in each year. Our fields will soon be full of potential once again, with a wide range of varieties destined for shops and displays across the country this autumn.
We're incredibly grateful for the Rural Prosperity Fund and the backing from Uttlesford District Council. This support is more than just an investment in our business — it's an investment in British farming and in the local supply chains that keep our rural economy thriving.
If you're a retailer looking to source wholesale pumpkins and squash for the upcoming season, we'd love to hear from you.
Hatfield Park Pumpkins — growing for your business, one harvest at a time.
